This year’s Work Safety Month carries the theme “Everyone Talks Safety, Everyone Is Ready for Emergencies,” with a focus on the characteristics of high-temperature, high-pressure, and high-risk operations in special steel production. A dedicated action plan has been developed around four core areas: hazard investigation and rectification, safety skills development, emergency response drills, and safety culture promotion. The plan aims to reinforce safety accountability across the board and strengthen the company’s foundation for safe development.

Safety Director Liang opened the meeting with a detailed walkthrough of the implementation plan for the 2026 Work Safety Month, covering responsibilities, activities, procedures, and evaluation standards for each department. He also briefed attendees on recent industry accident cases, analyzed their root causes, and identified recurring weaknesses in day-to-day operations, including poor safety awareness, incomplete hazard investigations, and non-standard emergency response. All staff were called on to take these as warnings, keep the alarm bell ringing, and hold firm to the bottom line of work safety.

Drawing on the realities of the company’s production environment, Deputy General Manager Dang Xianxing laid out specific arrangements for Work Safety Month. He stressed that steel production involves complex operating conditions and a high concentration of risk points, and all departments must firmly guard against complacency. Three priorities were set out: first, conduct thorough hazard investigations across blast furnace operations, rolling, equipment maintenance, and fire safety, maintain detailed records, and ensure closed-loop rectification of all findings; second, tighten on-site safety controls by strictly enforcing the special operations approval process and cracking down on violations and non-compliant work practices; third, deepen safety education across the workforce through regular training and cautionary education sessions, improving employees’ ability to identify risks and protect themselves.

General Manager Li Jingmin delivered a closing address and call to action. He noted that work safety is the lifeline of the company’s high-quality development and an absolute red line and bottom line that must never be crossed. All staff and managers must fully recognize the seriousness and importance of the current work safety situation and integrate Work Safety Month activities into day-to-day safety management. He called on all departments to tighten safety accountability at every level and maintain a management system that covers all people, all processes, and all areas; to stay problem-focused and carry out targeted rectification of all safety hazards, preventing accidents at the source; to conduct emergency drills on a regular basis to hone real-world response capabilities; and to foster a strong safety culture, ensuring safety concepts are genuinely internalized, so that everyone understands safety, everyone manages safety, and everyone upholds safety.

The launch meeting further unified the team’s safety thinking, clarified work objectives, and detailed the measures to be taken. Going forward, Huaxi Special Steel will take Work Safety Month as an opportunity to carry out a series of targeted safety activities, implement safety management measures with rigor and precision, make every effort to identify and resolve safety risks, and continue to consolidate the foundations of work safety—building a solid safety guarantee for the company’s stable, efficient, and high-quality development.
